This paper introduces the reasons of the folksonomy development and the difference between the folksonomy and traditional classification. Based on the analysis of its attributes such as high stability, the paper shows the application perspectives of the folksonomy. Finally, the authors also point out that the respects which need to be further improved for the folksonomy in the future.

n a more and more abundant of digital content environment, one big problem that the library faced is that their users have shorten attention on them. Based on the analyzing of the Long Tail phenomenon in some successful Internet companies, this paper expatiates three key principles of the Long Tail theory and summaries the views of libraries on the Long Tail theory. Then, it analyzes the problems of library in resources aggregation and services according to the Long Tail theory. At last, it discusses the reasons of user shorten attention, so as to provide some references for libraries to construct new services in network age.

This paper takes the application of knowledge mapping in information science as example. Firstly, it makes a brief introduction to the necessity of studying knowledge mapping of information science, its research status and development trend. Then the tools, methods and processes of drawing knowledge mapping are introduced. Finally, based on the analysis of contents of 248 papers about knowledge mapping, it comprehensively reviews the general situation of application of knowledge mapping in information science and its sub-domains, and briefly introduces the application of knowledge mapping in the other disciplines or domains.

This paper introduces Liang Qichao bibliographical thoughts on bibliographical theory and the practice of bibliographic service. The paper points out that Liang Qichao has made outstanding contribution to the development of Chinese modern bibliography by compiling recommendatory bibliography and western book category, reforming the contents of book description and creating the style of book description. The new classification system he set up also reveals the social function of bibliographies.

[Purpose/significance] Referring to "a plan for educating and training outstanding engineers", the present study puts forward the concept of excellent intelligence engineers' training.[Method/process] After introducing the connotation and educational goals of intelligence engineering, and according to the educational levels, orientation and goals of the educational system of information science, this article proposed the intelligence engineer's training methods, directions, goals and ascertains their quality structure and capabilities.Then we constructed the cultivating model of intelligence engineers by combining the theory with practice and multi-party cooperation.The present study also discussed the choice of curriculum contents, the deployment of the curriculum system and applying teaching models.[Result/conclusion] In the end, this article puts forward that we should cooperate to construct the innovation community of intelligence engineers' education in teaching, practice and research.

The background of altmetrics is summarized into two parts: the limitation of traditional bibliometrics and opportunities brought by online research environment. According to characteristics of altmetrics, the developing progress is divided into three parts, namely brewing stage, proposing and hot stage and theoretical and application research deepening stage. Content and characteristic of each stage was further illustrated. Then the status quo of altmetrics was summarized from aspects of themes of main academic activities, main author group, content of representative publications etc. On this basis discussion about the further development of altmetrics was given. It aimed at arousing attention of domestic scholars, publishers, libraries, information service departments and other related staff and departments, in order to adapt to the scholarly communication and evaluation system reform.

This paper analyzes the three styles of duplicate checking in book acquisition, which are traditional duplicate checking, backup database duplicate checking and telenet duplicate checking. Then it shows the advantage and shortcomings of each style. Based on this comparison and analysis, the paper also discusses the trend of duplicate checking, in which smaller, less-weighted and multifunctional palmtop computer will be welcomed as the equipment of duplicate checking.

This paper introduces the connotation of multilingual ontologies which can depict the knowledge expressed in different languages. Then it analyzes the function of multilingual ontologies in improving the cross language information retrieval from aspects of query expansion, semantic annotation, and concept-based indexing. With the examples of EuroWorldNet and Cindor, the paper discusses the key issues of mapping multilingual ontologies. It is considered in the paper that it will be useful to use interlingua to describe concepts and compare the translation of dictionaries so as to link with the words for mapping multilingual ontologies in different languages.

[Purpose/significance] By summarizing the research findings of information cocoons, this paper provides a systematic reference for the further study about related theory and practice development in China.[Method/process] Using content analysis, this paper reviewed from five dimensions, including the concept evolution of information cocoons, empirical research on the phenomenon of information cocoons, the influence of information cocoons, the formation of information cocoons, and the countermeasures of cracking information cocoons.[Result/conclusion] The results revealed that research contents at home and abroad is quite different. And there has been dispute about whether information cocoons exist or not. Furthermore, the research depth about the formation mechanism of information cocoons is not enough. Last but not least, the governance research about information cocoons is still inadequate.

[Purpose/significance] Internet user evaluation has become an important reference index when people choose goods. This paper aims to know the relationship between grade evaluation and review evaluation, to provide ranking and recommendation function in line with the potential grade for these websites which only have review evaluation.[Method/process] Through grasping Douban.com Movie users' comments and using the ROST EA tool for sentiment analysis to get comprehensive sentiment value, then makes correlation analysis with grade evaluation and taking into account the emotional intensity of the comment text, which cause difference of the results. On the basis of this, a regression model is constructed by regression analysis and tested.[Result/conclusion] It turns out that the correlation between them was high and the empowerment of emotional strength has little effect on the results, which indicates we can predict grade by review evaluation. The corresponding regression model is given in this paper.

By analyzing the system architecture and data model of DSpace, the authors find out that there are four issues in localization to be resolved, such as the support to Chinese version, the extension of file formats and metadata, the formation and management of the workflow and the integration with other systems or services. The results reveal that DSpace is an effective tool for the construction of Chinese institutional repositories. Furthermore, DSpace has good repository functions and can be applied flexibly and extensively.

The paper introduces the main functions of three kinds of academic tag systems as RefWorks, Connotea and CiteULike, and then compares the similarities and differences. It can be found that while RefWorks is a better creator for bibliography, Connotea is good at references organizing, new clue discovering and knowledge sharing, and CiteULike is a free online service for academic papers organization. The author suggests that academic libraries should take the responsibility for educating the users with a roper use of social software.

[Purpose/significance] For library, information and archives management, and related subjects, the release of 2021 new edition of the discipline specialties catalogue (draft for comments) by Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee means not only the renaming of the first-level subject, but also the important changes of connotation and system of the subject. For this, we need to analyze and think the significance of the renaming and the strategies of the subject construction for the future. [Method/process] By the literature review and historical analysis, the development evolution of "information resources management" was outlined, to strengthen the rational understanding the renaming of the first-level discipline and propose new strategies for the construction of the first-level subject. [Result/conclusion] The recognition and research for the concept and connotation, significance and value, scope and boundary, method and technology, subject and theory, application and effect, planning and future of "information resources management" as a first-level discipline should be improved by the academia and practitioners, to make promote the fundamental change from name to contents of the first-level subject.

[Purpose/significance] In the present trend of MOOCs development in new period, new idea and concept is introduced, new function is proposed, to drive the transformation and promotion of information service in university libraries and reinforce the reality value.[Method/process] Based on the data collected through an optimization investigation of university libraries and professional research literatures, a multi-level data analysis is made with case study method. The concisely summarized new pattern is further compared and matched with the practical cases at home and abroad in order that the proposed new pattern is adequately supported.[Result/conclusion] The new pattern of "3+2+1" MOOCs information service in university library includes three basic services, two core services and one in-depth service. The basic service is easy to implement and effective, the core service is crucial, important and most difficult, and the in-depth service requires the accumulative resources and team capabilities. It is hoped that the new pattern presented and the abundant practical cases listed can provide a feasible reference framework for MOOCs information service in university libraries in new era.

[Purpose/significance] Libraries face the predicament of inefficiency and marginalization.The inquiry into the logic of formation in the perspective of "Internet plus" is propitious to find an innovation path of information literacy education.[Method/process] This paper analyzes the formation mechanism of the developing predicament of information literacy education in the perspective of "Internet plus", and puts forward a logical idea and action path of innovation in information literacy education based on micro-video.[Result/conclusion] The innovation of information literacy education based on micro-video is an active exploration of cross-border and integration of library with other industries.Reconstructing the tradition pattern of information literacy education based on respecting human nature, could strengthen the connection, promote the opening of the ecology of information literacy education, and achieve a win-win pattern of interest.

In the paper, we defined the term Reference Analysis and Citation Analysis, and compared them using a case study based on the data from Journal of Informetrics. After the citations are identified inside the full texts of articles in JOI, the distribution of number of citations in each article was shown; the correlation coefficient between number of citations and number of references in each article was calculated; and the many-to-many relationship between citations and references are analyzed. In the end, we proposed a new way to calculate the total cited times of references. The results showed that, the new approach can detect the potential highly-cited references earlier than the traditional way. It has important application value and foreground in the fields of scientific prediction and scientific assessment.
