[Purpose/significance] The associative relationship plays an important role in indexing and information retrieval. The law followed by the associative relationship between concepts and how to build the relationship are important research contents of information organization.[Method/process] The paper refers to the model of information transmission between species, explores the associative relationship between the concepts of the information transfer model, investigates the concept information transfer in terms of content types, characteristics and the information transmission process respectively. It is found out that the associative relationship information transmission accords with the information transmission of ecology species.[Result/conclusion] Exploring the associative relationship via the information transmission provides a new way in constructing the thesaurus.
