[Purpose/significance] Scholarly communication is an important part of the research. It is necessary for university libraries to take it as an important part of scientific research support services.[Method/process] This paper takes the library of Hong Kong University of Science & Technology,the library of Hong Kong Baptist University and the library of Lingnan University as examplesto research scholarly communication service in Hong Kong.[Result/conclusion] In view of this, our country university libraries should clarify the concept of scholarly communication and its service category, pay close attention to domestic and foreign scholarly communication related policy, pay attention to use of the resources of international scholarly communication related institutions, pay attention to the training and employment of scholarly communication service librarians, and gradually carry out scholarly communication service.
