Research on the Value of Literature Resources of University Library in Teaching and Scientific Research

[Purpose/significance] To evaluate the value of literature resources of university library can provide the objective basis for application of literature purchasing expenses.[Method/process] This paper develops a set of valuationassessment methodsto overall measure theimpact of literature resources of university library on teaching and scientific research, which is framed with three perspectives as the time valuation, the creation valuation and the substitution valuation. Empirical Analysis with such method has been done by using the data of library of Dalian university of technology, which is helpful for other university libraries to develop valuationassessment study.[Result/conclusion] The value of literature resources in scientific research ismuch higher than that in teaching in library of Dalian university of technology; the value of electronic resources is much higher than that of printed resources; the substitution valuation is the most conservative method compared with the time valuation and the creation valuation.
