Abstract

[Purpose/significance] This paper aims to explore that the mobile makerspace is the extension and expansion of library's service functions, and plays an important role in meeting the needs of the users who are unable to visit the library.[Method/process] On the base of literature research and case study, this paper discusses the advances in library mobile makerspace research and practice, describes the comparative advantage of mobile makerspace, and proposes the construction strategy of library mobile space.[Result/conclusion] The research shows that theoretical research results of library mobile makerspace are rather rare, and only six practical cases can be used for reference. The mobile makerspace has the advantages of flexibility and mobility, and has a more important feature of active service model. The strategic planning and implementation paths of library's mobile makerspace should include the following aspects:carrier and resources selecting, project planning and organization, security protection and training, budget and financial support, outreach and partnership, effectiveness evaluation and feedback.
