[Purpose/significance] In order to provide the reference of resource constructions and service innovation for academic libraries, as well as making overall development strategies in future, the current situation of academic libraries in minority autonomous regions is analyzed.[Method/process] Based on the methods of literature and web survey, 30 academic libraries in 5 ethnic minority autonomous regions have been investigated from two dimensions of resource and service. The current situation and characteristics of academic libraries in minority autonomous regions are summarized.[Result/conclusion] At present, academic libraries in minority autonomous regions have improved in aspects such as library building, literature resources, automation equipment, web environment and so on. However, the service ability is limited, especially the deep-level services are not enough. The cooperation is limited between the intra region and the resource sharing is much deficiency. This paper puts forward some developing strategies aiming at these problems.
