Comparative Research on Patent Citation from China and the USA

[Purpose/significance] Comparison of the similarities and differences between the Chinese and American patent citations, the two of them are deeply understood and defined, which is a better realization of the value of the patent citations. [Method/process] This paper reveals the difference of its system and consciousness based on a comparative study of patent citations from China and the USA. [Result/conclusion] On the description of the contents and position of reference, sorting standards, identification of element and the type of annotation are different between the patent citation of China and the USA. Therefore, the establishment of patent citation database and mining patent citation information should be distinguishedin order to improve the accuracy of patent citation analysis results, and more effectively achieve the value of patent citation.
