Data Governance and Framework of University Libraries

[Purpose/significance] Data governance is the exercise of authority and control over the management of data assets. This paper takes the university library as a typical industry with data as the core business. It introduces the theoretical framework of data governance, to realize service innovation and value creation based on data assets in university libraries.[Method/process] The paper firstly clarifies the definition and functions of data governance, then analyzes the types and characteristics of library data, and summarizes the current situation and the existing problems of the data management in university libraries.[Result/conclusion] Based on the data governance framework of international authority and combined with the industry characteristics of university library, the paper creatively puts forward the CALib Framework for Chinese university library, and elaborates each sub-frames.
