[Purpose/significance] People pay more attention to the survival and development of the library under the social and cultural background. According to the premise recognize situation, this paper focuses on analyzing the reverse dynamic function of library participating in social cultural construction. [Method/process] It seems that the library objectively collects, sorts, preserves and uses the literatures. However, these processes all involve in ruling on the recorded knowledge of literature behind nature, and extremely actively express the ontology about what is knowledge, the ontology about how does the knowledge exist, the epistemology about how knowledge can be known, and the teleology about why the knowledge exist. Such cognition changes the knowledge outlook behind the literature, which directly affects readers' understanding and acceptance. In the process of that literature knowledge transfers from the author to the reader's, the library as a non-neutrality intermediary organization constructs its social culture in its unique way from beginning to end. [Result/conclusion] Reviewing the social culture construction function of library contributes to recognize and set the position of library, and reassigns the scope and level for library science research.
