The Investigation and Thoughts on the Present Situation of Literature Retrieval Course for post graduates in University Libraries of Beijing Area

[Purpose/significance]This paper investigates and researches the present situation of literature retrieval course for postgraduates in 50 university libraries of Beijing area, and it will draw upon for teaching practice and developments of the course. [Method/process]Using expert interview, telephone interview, questionnaire survey and other methods, the paper clears and analyzes some courses at lenghth in many aspects such as the overall situation, contents, forms of teaching and examination, conditions of the teachers, feedback from the students, and advices from some teachers. Finally, the paper puts forwards thoughts and advices.[Result/conclusion]Literature retrieval course for postgraduates of university libraries in Beijing area shows good development trend, and it is corresponding to the overall development of education of the area. Meanwhile, there are some weak points in the aspects of the content system and content depth and so on.Finally, combining the direction of the curriculum, the paper puts forward the thoughts and suggestions.
