A New Comprehensive Metric Indicator to Science and Technology：A Review on P-index

The p-index is a comprehensive measurement of one's academic influence derived from h-index. The main achievement in theory research, practical application and some other aspects about p-index has been discussed by the time sequence. Some advantages, such as integration of the qualitative factor and quantitative one, sensitivity and distinguish ability, have been summarized based on the current researches. Some problems in the p-index are presented, such as the lack of citations distribution factor and the omission of time factor. At last, the further research ideas and planning for the problems are given.
