This paper takes Anhui Provincial Library, Hunan Library and Jingshi Library for examples, which were established in the early stage of Chinese modern public library. It elaborates the start of donation activities of modern libraries, describes its developing way under the targets of "example","heritage","storage","deposit","refund" and so on. Finally, this paper analyzes the profound significance of the modern library donation from perspectives of motivating humane value and spirit of humanity, etc.
