Analysis of Information Sharing Based on Institutional Economics

Judging from the new institutional economics and especially focusing on the premise of Economic Man hypothesis, this paper analyzes the efficient information sharing institutional arrangement with the concept of "asset specificity" proposed by Williamson. The institution arrangement is clarified into four types of information market, intermediate organization, intra-organization and governance organization. This paper also advances the institutional boundary and analyzes institution changes of information sharing. Then it gives the useful suggestions about institution optimization, to explain the existing operation phenomena of information sharing system and promote its further development.
