On Drawbacks and Revision of the Act of Government Information Openness of China

Abstract

A series of legislative drawbacks are found in the Act of Government Information Openness: there is not a reasonable, detailed and thorough delimitation to the boundary of government information openness; the mode and procedure of information openness needs further improvement; the act lacks a sound system of supervision and safeguards. Therefore the boundary of government information openness should be accurately delimitated, the mode and procedure of information openness should be perfect and the supervisory measure and safeguard mechanism of information openness should be strengthen while the act is revised in the future.
