[目的/意义]作为新媒体的代表之一，微博在国内外图书馆中的应用已成为普遍趋势。然而，相关研究大多关注微博在图书馆应用的现状与策略，对国内外图书馆应用微博的特点与不同之处鲜有探讨。通过对中美两国高校图书馆运用微博的现状进行分析，比较两者的异同，为我国更好地应用微博提供参考和借鉴。[方法/过程]以中美两国各10所高校图书馆的微博为样本，从微博的基本情况（包括微博的粉丝数、发文数及发文频率、原创微博的吸引力、与用户的互动）、微博的形式、微博的内容等方面进行分析比较。[结果/结论]发现美国高校图书馆推特与中国高校图书馆微博的粉丝数量相对持平；美国高校图书馆推特的发文数、发文频率及原创微博的发文数、被点赞数和被转发数都高于中国图书馆，但其原创微博的被评论数低于中国；美国高校图书馆更加重视与用户的互动，更加注重与其他社交应用的联动以及注重对馆员的宣传推介；而中国高校图书馆的微博内容更加详细。

[Purpose/significance]At present, the application of micro-blog as one of the important applications of new media has become a general trend in the domestic and foreign libraries. However, most of the related researches are limited to the application of microblog in libraries. There are few discussions about the characteristics and differences of the application of microblog in domestic and foreign libraries. This paper intends to compare and analyze the similarities and differences between the Chinese university libraries and American university libraries through investigation and research on the status of microblogs, which can provide reference to better apply microblog for our country.[Method/process] This paper is based on the microblogs of 20 university libraries in China and the United States, comparing and analyzing the basic situation of micro-blog (including fans, number and frequency, the attractiveness of original microblog, interaction with users), the format and content of microblogs and etc.[Result/conclusion]It is found that the number of micro-blog fans in Chinese university libraries and American university libraries is relatively flat. The number, the frequency and the attractiveness of original microblog of American university libraries are higher, and they also focus on interaction with users, pay more attention to application with other social linkage and focus more on the publicity and promotion of librarians, while the content of microblogs in Chinese university libraries is more detailed.
