The Study on Game Services in American Public libraries

[Purpose/significance] Game service has been developed for more than 160 years in American public libraries. The game has become library's means to educate and amend society. It is also an important tool for transformation and community integration. This analysis has reference to launching game service in Chinese public libraries. [Method/process] Through the analysis of more than 200 academic literatures on library game from 1915, using research literature review, the paper summarizes the development, service mode and important push of American public library game service. [Result/conclusion] The critical support system comes form the library's own efforts, all levels societies' guide, cooperation of company & foundation, intellectual support of educational institutions and social participation.
